We put more of your community in reach

For some people, driving is no longer an option, public transport can be difficult to access, or there may simply be no transport available at home. Our aged care transport services are designed to help in those moments. We want you to enjoy the freedom of getting out and about more. So whether it’s a medical appointment, a trip to the supermarket or a social outing, our friendly drivers and accessible cars and minibuses make getting there easier and less stressful.

Social transport

Holdsworth also provides transport to and from social events such as group gatherings, community activities and local meet-ups, helping you stay socially connected.

You can join our regular social bus outings, where participants are picked up on Tuesdays and Thursdays to visit local galleries, gardens and scenic locations, followed by lunch together.

This is a supported group service with a fee and is delivered as part of the Support at Home program. Each month we go to different places.

Get local care with Holdsworth

Holdsworth is a not-for-profit community organisation that supports people to live safely, confidently and independently at home. We are based in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs and have strong local knowledge of the area, services and community networks.

Senior transportation services frequently asked questions

Transport for seniors may be offered through the Support at Home program, previously known as Home Care Packages, or through the Commonwealth Home Support Program.

Eligibility, classifications and budgets are determined by the government through an independent assessment. Holdsworth does not set funding levels. Our role is to help you understand your options and coordinate the services you choose. You can learn more about upcoming changes on our Support at Home Program page.

We provide pick-up from your home within the Woollahra area and can take you to medical appointments, shopping centres and social activities anywhere across Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.

Our transport services are delivered by trained, experienced drivers who prioritise safety, respect and care. They take the time to support each person throughout the journey, not just the drive itself.

Your need for transport support is assessed independently through the government’s Single Assessment System. Based on this assessment, Holdsworth works with you to coordinate transport services that align with your approved supports and individual circumstances.

We aim to make our community transport services as accessible as possible. We have vehicles equipped for wheelchair access and can support a range of mobility needs.

Our team also speaks a variety of languages. While we can’t always guarantee a specific language match, we encourage you to let us know your preferences so we can plan the best possible support.

Senior care transportation services are available on weekdays and bookings must be made in advance.

Priority is given to medical appointments to ensure essential health needs are supported, with other trips scheduled around availability.

Where possible, we will do our best to accommodate reasonable adjustments to pick-up or drop-off arrangements. This depends on driver availability, existing schedules and the needs of other people using the service on the day.

If you’re receiving support through the Commonwealth Home Support Program but don’t currently have a transport code, contact our team for support. We can guide you on how to request the correct code through My Aged Care and explain what to ask for, so you can access transport support if it’s appropriate for your needs.
