The new school year is here! While older children head back to classrooms, it’s the perfect time for your little ones to start their own learning journey at Holdsworth playgroups.

Starting your child’s journey with playgroup gives them a strong foundation. Through play, they develop social skills, creativity and confidence. At the same time, you’ll build connections with other local parents and carers who understand the joys and challenges of raising young children.

Three programs for every stage

We know every child and family is different. That’s why we offer three tailored programs:

At Holdsworth playgroup, two children enjoy playing with a toy car in a vibrant playground.

Playgroup (walkers to 5 years)

Open Monday to Friday 9am to 12pm at Holdsworth Street and Wednesday and Thursday at Rose Bay Cottage, our main playgroup offers interactive learning, indoor and outdoor play, story time and creative crafts. Children explore different themes each week, from nature and animals to art and music.

This is where the little ones develop their strengths. They learn to share, take turns and express themselves in a supportive environment.

A group of toddlers sitting on a green mat play with colourful musical toys. Adults surround them, creating an atmosphere of joy and learning at Bub Hub.

Bub Hub (newborns to walkers)

Free sessions on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9am to 12:30pm. Bub Hub is a place to connect with other local mums and chat with our Registered Nurse for professional advice and support.

Two young children sit on lush green grass, smiling warmly. The older child in a dark shirt hugs the younger in a white outfit with yellow suspenders.

Siblings Room (babies under 12 months with siblings under 5)

Monday and Tuesday from 9am to 12pm. This calm space is perfect for families with a baby and an older sibling.

Your toddler can play while your baby has a quieter environment. It’s designed to make playgroup work for the whole family.

What makes us different

Our playgroups are located at 64 Holdsworth Street in the heart of Woollahra and Rose Bay Cottage in leafy O’Sullivan St, Rose Bay, just by the golf course. Easy to reach, close to local amenities and part of your community.

Our programs are play-based, following how children naturally learn.

We’re proudly supported by Woollahra Council, making quality early learning accessible to local families.

Real families, real connections

“We started coming when my eldest was a baby and now she’s nearly three! It just became part of our routine.”

“I recommend it to everyone. It’s the easiest place to catch up with friends or let your kids burn off some energy. There are toys, toilets, and always someone around to help if you need. My girls will play for two or three hours happily, it ticks all the boxes, ” says Eliza.

Playgroup isn’t just for children, it’s where parents find support, advice and friendship during the early years.
