We are on a mission to raise $30,000 this holiday season.

This is the time of year when family and friends get together to celebrate the holiday season, and we think about the things we are grateful for.

As we enter this holiday period, we encourage you to think about those that may be living alone, or a little further away from family or friends. Being socially isolated is the result of feeling detached, lonely or disconnected from family, friends and the community. Sadly in our local community, social isolation is growing and so are the negative impacts on our health. But we have an answer!

Social connection is powerful. It is a genuine human need and a proven solution to combat the growing impacts of social isolation.

Thanks to the generosity of compassionate people like you, Holdsworth Community can do whatever it takes to connect all people in our community – the older, the younger and everybody in between!

Your gift – of whatever amount is right for you – will ensure that Holdsworth can continue to connect our local community!

In fact, here are some amazing things our donors have made possible:

  • In 2019, we raised $27,000 to purchase a new 24-seater bus to connect participants to exercise programs;
  • In 2018, we raised $9,000 to support the launch of Holdsworth HomeShare, connecting older and younger people in return for companionship and affordable accommodation;
  • In 2018, we raised $11,000 to modify one of our vehicles to be wheelchair accessible, providing access to our after school program for people living with disability;
  • In 2017, we raised $12,000 to recruit and train new volunteers for our Home Connect Program who visit older people living alone once a week.

Support Holdsworth to store meals that are distributed to older people who are socially isolated.

Support people living with disability to learn independent living skills.

Improve the comfort of our community transport fleet.

Upgrade our playground and its equipment to enhance our playgroup for kids and babies.
