We work with families to design a personalised plan that identifies the supports that your child needs now and helps you plan for the future.

Whether you are interested in helping your child to learn everyday living skills, improve their communication, overcome behavioural challenges or to make friends and build connections in the community, we can work with you to determine the supports you need and assist you to put them in place.

All programs are designed to support the following outcomes:

  • Build social connections (make friends)
  • Increase independence in daily personal activities
  • Build life skills
  • Improve communication skills and confidence
  • Access community attractions in a supported environment

Our programs

This group program supports children and teens to participate in fun activities after school during the school term (40 weeks per year) and offers your child the opportunity to:

  •             Develop social skills and make friendships with peers
  •             Build on life skills and independence in daily activities
  •             Participate in a range of activities in a supported environment

Who: Teens living with disability aged 13-18 years old.

Currently taking interest for children aged 7-12 years old.

When: Tuesday 2:30pm – 6:00pm and Thursday 3:00pm – 6:00pm during school term

Where: Holdsworth Community Centre – 64 Holdsworth Street, Woollahra

Cost: $5 per day

This full day program is a group outing to a fun community destination or activity and offers your child the opportunity to:

  •             Develop social skills and make friendships with peers
  •             Access the community in a supported environment
  •             Build their confidence, life skills and independence in daily activities

Who: Teens living with disability aged 13-18 years old.

Currently taking interest for children aged 7-12 years old.

When: Every Saturday during school term –

Day activities: 9am to 3pm

Night activities (teens only): 4pm to 9pm

Where: Meet outside the Mill Hill Centre, Spring Street, Bondi Junction

Cost: Maximum of $30 depending on activity

This full day program is a group outing to a fun community destination or activity and offers your child the opportunity to:

  •             Develop socials skills and make friendships with peers
  •             Access the community in a supported environment
  •             Build their confidence, life skills and independence in daily activities

Who: Teens living with disability aged 13-18 years old.

Currently taking interest for children aged 7-12 years old.

When: School holidays – 4 days during term 1, 2, 3 holidays; 6 days during term 4 holidays – 9am to 4pm

Where: All holiday programs start and end at Holdsworth Community Centre – 64 Holdsworth Street, Woollahra

Cost: Maximum of $30 depending on activity

This fun afternoon group program offers a qualified dance instructor who teaches movement and coordinated dance steps in preparation for an end of year concert. The program offers your child the opportunity to:

  •             Improve coordination and maintain mobility through dance movement
  •             Enjoy being part of a team
  •             Develop social skills and interact with peers
  •             Build confidence and self-esteem performing in front of an audience

Who: Teens living with disability aged 13-18 years old.

Currently taking interest for children aged 7-12 years old.

When: Wednesday’s 5:30pm to 6:30pm during school term

Where: Holdsworth Community Centre – 64 Holdsworth Street, Woollahra

Cost: Maximum of $30 depending on activity

Drama at Holdsworth is a series of supported drama workshops for people living with a disability which is run as a collaboration between Holdsworth and Sydney Theatre Company.

The classes utilise skills to deliver the following outcomes:

  • Improve coordination and movement control;
  • Improve social skills;
  • Improve self expression (both verbal and non-verbal) and boost confidence;
  • Great opportunity to make new friends

Who: Teens living with disability aged 13-18 years old.

Currently taking interest for children aged 7-12 years old.

When: Monday’s 4:30pm – 5:15pm – 4 terms over the year

Where: Holdsworth Community Centre – 64 Holdsworth Street, Woollahra

This program has been subsidised by the Kirby Foundation so you can access it without using your NDIS funding!

To attend these programs, you will need:

  • Have NDIS funding for group-based activities in a centre
  • Be willing to share fun experiences in a group environment
  • Have a positive outlook to engaging in new activities
  • Commit to attending the programs as per the specified times
  • Contribute a maximum of $30 to attend the program, depending on the activity

All Holdsworth Programs and Services are priced based on the NDIS price guide rates as of 1 February 2019. Some programs have additional activity costs to cover entry fees or other costs to participant in that days scheduled activity. These are based on the actual costs and are kept to a maximum of $30 per day. If you have any questions about costs for particular programs please speak to our NDIS team who can provide specifics about how to include in your plan and any other applicable costs.

Our programs and services are designed for people living with a disability. If you have an NDIS package then you would be eligible for programs based on your package inclusions. If you don’t have an NDIS package but are living with a disability, please give us a call to talk about how we can support you.
