We all know how important it is to connect with people in the community, especially our mates. All our programs will help you build your social connections and develop life skills that are tailored to your own goals and circumstances.

Across all our programs, Holdsworth Community aims to build life skills and social supports that are designed to help you develop the everyday skills you need to live independently in the community and at home.

All programs are designed to support the following outcomes:

Our programs

Holdsworth in conjunction with partner organisations is running a Travel Training service.

This program is designed to support the following outcomes:

  • Safely catching trains, buses and ferries
  • Buying and using Opal cards
  • Planning a trip & reading timetables
  • Awareness of Road Safety

This fun afternoon group program offers a qualified dance instructor who teaches movement and coordinated dance steps in preparation for an end of year concert. The program offers your child the opportunity to:

  •             Improve coordination and maintain mobility through dance movement
  •             Enjoy being part of a team
  •             Develop social skills and interact with peers
  •             Build confidence and self-esteem performing in front of an audience

Who: Adults living with disability (18 -64 years old)

When: Wednesday’s during school term – 5:30pm to 6:30pm

Where: Holdsworth Community Centre – 64 Holdsworth Street, Woollahra

Drama at Holdsworth is a series of supported drama workshops for people living with a disability which is run as a collaboration between Holdsworth and Sydney Theatre Company.

The classes utilise skills to deliver the following outcomes:

  • Improve coordination and movement control;
  • Improve social skills;
  • Improve self expression (both verbal and non-verbal) and boost confidence;
  • Great opportunities to make new friends

Who: Adults living with disability (aged 18-64 years old)

When: Monday’s during school terms – 5:15pm to 6:15pm

Where: Holdsworth Community Centre – 64 Holdsworth Street, Woollahra

Saturday Gang is a program every Saturday for adults living with disability. The outings are held either in the day or evening.

The program delivers on the following outcomes:

  • Interact socially with peers;
  • Access the community in a supported environment;
  • Build confidence, life skills and independence

Who: Adults living with disability (aged 18-64 years old)

When: 10:30am – 3:30pm OR 6:00pm – 10:00pm

Where: Daytime outings – Bondi Junction Bus Interchange Stand A

Evening outings – Meeting and finishing at local clubs

To attend these programs, you will need:

  • Have NDIS funding for group-based activities in a centre
  • Be willing to share fun experiences in a group environment
  • Have a positive outlook to engaging in new activities
  • Commit to attending the programs as per the specified times
  • Contribute a maximum of $30 to attend the program, depending on the activity

All Holdsworth Programs and Services are priced based on the NDIS price guide rates as of 1 February 2019. Some programs have additional activity costs to cover entry fees or other costs to participant in that days scheduled activity. These are based on the actual costs and are kept to a maximum of $30 per day. If you have any questions about costs for particular programs please speak to our NDIS team who can provide specifics about how to include in your plan and any other applicable costs.

Our programs and services are designed for people living with a disability. If you have an NDIS package then you would be eligible for programs based on your package inclusions. If you don’t have an NDIS package but are living with a disability, please give us a call to talk about how we can support you.
