Late 1960s
Out of school hours’ program set up for children at the initiative of local parents, and with the support of council, The Woollahra Children’s and Community Association was formed.
Mid 1970s
Funding became available for neighbourhood and community centres, and services expanded to support frail and house bound seniors and a playgroup was started in the mornings.
Mid 1980s
The centre became incorporated and extended its services to include programs for people with an intellectual disability.
Holdsworth applied for and received Home and Community Care program funding for Social Support and Community Transport.
2015
Marked the 75th anniversary of the foundation of the playgroup on the Holdsworth Street site, a joint initiative of the NSW Government and Woollahra Council.
2016
Holdsworth transitioned to become Holdsworth Community Ltd, a public company limited by guarantee.
2018
Holdsworth provides a range of services across the Eastern Suburbs, working in close collaboration with councils, health providers, other NGOs, schools and local businesses.
