To our community,
An update for Holdsworth Community from our CEO, Ruth Kestermann
At Holdsworth, the health and safety of our community is our priority. As restrictions begin to ease and places start to reopen, it is important we continue to be mindful of that.
We recently invited our community to complete a survey about how supported they have felt by Holdsworth during the COVID-19 pandemic. I would like to thank everyone who took the time to complete it. Your response has been overwhelmingly positive with over 74% feeling fully supported by Holdsworth.
Many of you would have also seen that the NSW Government has announced further easing of restrictions, including the re-opening of community centres. We are currently working through what this means for Holdsworth and the next steps which will enable us to better connect our community, while maintaining appropriate the health and safety precautions.
We believe it is also now time to re-connect people in small groups and will be talking to both our NDIS and older community about opportunities for this. Again, it is important that we take necessary precautions to make sure these are as safe as possible.
In the meantime, we are excited to announce that we will be re-opening venue hire at our Holdsworth Street premises from Monday, 14th June 2020. Further information about the conditions of hiring and the NSW Government social distancing requirements will be shared on our website very soon.
We also continue to provide the following individual support services:
Please reach out if you or someone you know needs additional individual support at this time.
With restrictions easing, we understand that everyone in our community will be feeling a range of emotions. We understand the uncertainty, the feeling of wanting to go back to normal, and the loss of missing our regular routine.
If you or a loved one are feeling isolated, unsure or need a little support, we are always happy to chat about ways we can support you. Whether this is setting up ongoing support services or regular phone calls, simply to touch base, we are here.
We want to thank everyone in our community for helping to stop the spread of COVID-19. While we still have a fair way to go, our hard work is paying off. We are looking forward to bringing you some new and exciting programs when it is safe to do so.
